Understanding the low compliance of the kidney and the limitations of fluid drainage from the renal pelvis led to the design of a system that limits the volume of irrigation boluses, avoids forced continuous hydration, and reduces the total amount of fluids used during the procedure.
The system provides a safer method of irrigation, allowing the physician to maintain constant control over the rate and force of bolus delivery.
The intermittent nature of fluid delivery provides time between boluses, simultaneously controlling intrarenal pressure. The maximum bolus volume is limited to less than 3 ml, preventing kidney overfill.
Additional Features of Peditrol:
- Serves as an additional tool to facilitate stone manipulation (elevating the stone, changing its position)
- Ensures excellent visibility by removing clots from the ureter
- Assists in ureteral access by safely expanding the ureteral orifice
- Operates in two flow systems: continuous, generated by hydrostatic pressure, and forced, dependent on the pressure applied to the pump.
