Swann Morton was founded in Sheffield in 1932 by Walter R. Swann, J.A. Morton, and D. Fairweather. By 1957, Swann-Morton was producing over 38 million blades annually. It specializes in manufacturing surgical blades, scalpels, and handles, exporting its products to over 100 countries worldwide. Swann Morton surgical equipment finds application in medicine among surgeons, general practitioners, nurses, paramedics, and other healthcare workers. The manufacturer also offers special systems for touchless removal of all sizes of scalpel blades from handles. Surgical equipment, scalpels, and surgical blades

Standard scalpels, as well as scalpels with additional plastic guards and sterile disposable scalpels, provide ease of use in many scenarios – in hospital wards, emergency rooms, or during rescue operations performed by emergency teams. Sterile stainless steel blades are used for incisions in the tympanic membrane. They are compatible with handles from the 'Fine' group. The blade allows for incisions from both the top and bottom. Blades with 34 different shapes and 12 different handles are used in all fields of surgery, including cardiac, orthopedic, and reconstructive surgery. Swann Morton also produces a range of sterile surgical blades made from carbon steel or stainless steel, perfectly suitable for podiatrists and pediatricians.
